The City of Galesburg has declared a snow emergency beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, as a second round of winter weather moves into the area. The National Weather Service is forecasting 2 to 5 inches of snow between noon Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2. Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes may be affected, and drivers are urged to allow extra travel time, slow down and use caution, as roads may quickly become snow-covered.

During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on all Galesburg city streets. Vehicles parked on city streets (except in the central business district) are subject to ticketing and towing. The parking ban remains in effect until all streets are cleared. City streets are plowed when snow accumulation reaches 2 inches.
