Redding, Hall stack double-doubles in Sandburg win
Hailey Redding and Tiera Hall each had a double-double to pace the Sandburg women’s basketball team in a 67-55 win over Culver-Stockton JV on Nov. 24 in Canton, Missouri.
The Chargers (3-3) took a 23-16 lead after the opening quarter and held a 37-25 advantage at halftime. Sandburg held on after Culver-Stockton closed within 52-44 entering the fourth quarter.
Redding totaled a team-leading and season-high 16 points with 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the year. She also recorded one Nov. 12 against Spoon River. The freshman from Abingdon-Avon High School went 6-for-18 from the field and added two steals and a block.
Hall finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds for her third double-double of the season and second in as many games. The sophomore also led Sandburg with four assists and added two steals and a block.
Freshman Camryn Atterberg pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds, including eight on the offensive end, as the Chargers racked up a season-best 64 boards.
Abbie Ackers scored a season-high nine points, going 2-for-3 from 3-point range. Lajaya Angel added eight points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals, with six of her rebounds coming on the offensive glass.
The Chargers will play at John Wood at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 25.
