
Carl Sandburg College will offer a new sequence of engineering courses beginning in fall 2026 for students planning to transfer into bachelor’s-degree engineering programs.
The four-course sequence is intended to provide foundational coursework for students pursuing fields such as mechanical, civil and aerospace engineering. College officials said the pathway is designed to support transfer preparation after students complete an associate degree at Sandburg.
When taken alongside calculus and physics courses, the engineering sequence includes:
“This is all about building momentum for the future for students interested in this area of study,” Dean of Transfer Michael Patilla said. “Engineering is a critical field, and we’ve intentionally designed a clear, transfer-ready pathway so students can move confidently into engineering programs and succeed at the next level.”
