The Knox Community Health Center has added two new dentists to its dental team, a move aimed at expanding access to oral health care in Knox County and surrounding rural communities.
Jazmin Johnson, DMD, and David Jun, DDS, recently joined the health center’s dental practice at 1361 W. Fremont St. in Galesburg, where they will provide family dentistry services to patients of all ages.
Johnson earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of New England College of Dental Medicine in 2025. She said she is eager to serve communities where access to dental care remains limited.

“I am excited to serve Knox County and the surrounding areas where the need for rural dental care is so great,” Johnson said. “My goal is to care for the smiles of both children and adults and build their trust as their family dentist.”
Jun earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2025. He said his focus is on delivering patient-centered care.
“I am thrilled to join the team at the Knox Community Health Center,” Jun said. “My goal is to ensure that every patient feels comfortable and receives the best possible care for a healthy smile.”

Michele Gabriel, Knox County public health administrator, said the addition of two dentists will allow the health center to better meet growing demand for dental services.
“This addition allows us to grow our services and continue to meet the needs of our growing patient base,” Gabriel said. “Their commitment to patient well-being is a strong fit for our mission.”
Health department officials said access to dental care remains a significant need in Knox County and nearby areas, particularly for patients who are uninsured or underinsured. Expanding dental services is part of a broader effort to reduce health disparities in the region.
The Knox Community Health Center has served Knox County and surrounding communities since 2012, providing dental care for patients of all ages. The center offers preventive and restorative services.
The health center accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. Patients without insurance, or those who are underinsured, may qualify for the Sliding Fee Discount Program, which offers reduced costs based on income and household size.
