The City of Galesburg has opened an online public auction for retired city vehicles and equipment.

The auction is being conducted through Purple Wave Auction and is open for bidding through Tuesday, June 23. Items are being sold with no reserve, meaning each item will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of the final price.

The inventory includes retired city assets such as trucks, cars and SUVs.

Bidders can view items and place bids by creating a free account on the Purple Wave website. There is no fee to register or participate, but winning bidders will pay a 10 percent buyer’s premium added to the final bid.

After payment is processed, buyers will receive a paid receipt and may arrange to pick up items in Galesburg.
