A Galesburg man has been arrested for first-degree murder as part of a homicide investigation that began Sunday afternoon, according to a press release from the Galesburg Police Department.

Officers were called to 30 N. Soangetaha Road at 12:32 p.m. Sunday for a well-being check. Upon arrival, a deceased female was found outside the residence with apparent blunt force trauma. No other subjects were found at the scene.
At 8:45 a.m. Monday, officers located David L. Nicholson-Klingerman Jr., 29, at 30 N. Soangetaha Road and took him into custody as a person of interest. He was subsequently arrested for first-degree murder.
The identity and cause of death of the woman have not been released, pending autopsy results.
