The following people were charged in Knox County between Sept. 8-12, 2025. Charges are accusations and not proof of guilt.

Monday, Sept. 8

  • Jessica L. Garner, 38, Galesburg, was charged with Class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams.
  • Joseph Hairston, 34, Galesburg, was charged with three counts of Class X felony home invasion with a firearm and Class X felony armed robbery; three counts of Class 1 felony aggravated robbery; two counts of Class 1 felony robbery with victim age 60 or older or handicapped; two counts of Class 1 felony residential burglary; and Class 1 felony unlawful vehicular invasion; two counts of Class 3 felony aggravated battery/victim age 60 or older and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon; and two counts of Class 4 felony criminal trespass.
  • Brandon M. Hentz, 37, Geneva, was charged with Class 1 felony cocaine possession between 15-100 grams and misdemeanor cannabis possession between 30-100 grams.
  • Scott D. Johnston, 34, Galena, was charged with Class 1 felony possession of cocaine between 15-100 grams and misdemeanor cannabis possession between 30-100 grams.
  • Jacob A. Smith, 22, Abingdon, was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery/pregnant or handicapped victim, aggravated battery in a public place, and meth possession under 5 grams.
  • Michael J. VanWinkle, 48, Galesburg, was charged with Class 2 felony aggravated battery/strangle, Class 4 felony domestic battery with prior conviction, and misdemeanor theft under $500.
  • Preston S. Whiting, 34, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of misdemeanor criminal trespass.

Tuesday, Sept. 9

  • Kiara C. Crowell, 29, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor theft under $500.
  • Jon D. Hacker, 63, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft under $300.
  • Adrian M. Jimenez, 24, Galesburg, was charged with Class 4 felony criminal trespass and misdemeanor domestic battery causing bodily harm.
  • Robert L. Wesley, 44, Peoria, was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass.

Wednesday, Sept. 10

  • David A. Anderson, 45, Galesburg, was charged with five counts of Class X felony child pornography and one count of Class X felony predatory criminal sexual assault/victim under age 13; Class 1 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse/victim under age 18; and Class 2 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse/victim under age 13 and possession of child pornography.
  • Samantha L. Miller, 45, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor theft under $500.
  • Darrell J. Rippatoe, 65, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass.

Thursday, Sept. 11

  • Ozzie Cooley, 20, Galesburg, was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery/pregnant or handicapped victim and aggravated battery/public place, and misdemeanor domestic battery/bodily harm.
  • Christian M. Creek, 35, Monmouth, was charged with misdemeanor illegal possession of ammunition.
  • Mickey J. Huber, 51, Abingdon, was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor battery causing bodily harm.
  • Drake A. Mortensen, 27, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor battery causing bodily harm.
  • Austin M. Rutledge, 28, Galesburg, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
  • Tommy L. Simmons, 19, Abingdon, was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery/victim age 60 or older and theft over $500, and misdemeanor domestic battery/physical contact and theft under $500.
  • Kenneth L. Stover, 52, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery causing bodily harm.
  • Tiarius R. Wilson, 24, Abingdon, was charged with misdemeanor battery/physical contact.
  • Cody J. Young, 31, Galesburg, was charged with Class 4 felony retail theft under $300 with prior conviction.

Friday, Sept. 12

  • Amber A. Amick, 35, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles/syringes, and driving on a suspended license.
  • Justin A. Bush, 50, Knoxville, was charged with misdemeanor battery/physical contact.
  • Lacey M. Cecil, 39, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass.
  • Carin M. Cole, 20, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor speeding 35+ mph over the speed limit, unlawful possession of cannabis by driver, and cannabis possession between 10-30 grams.
  • Carmen L. Cordova, 35, Galesburg, was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery in a public place.
  • Troy W. Cozart, 46, Gilson, was charged with misdemeanor battery/physical contact.
  • William W. Cramer, 46, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor battery/physical contact.
  • Jasmine E. Dillard, 18, Galesburg, was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery in a public place.
  • April N. Flynn, 36, Galesburg, was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass.
  • Samantha L. Miller, 45, Galesburg, was charged with Class 2 felony violation of the sex offender registry.
  • Troy D. Norville, 55, Knoxville, was charged with Class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and misdemeanor unlawful possession of cannabis by driver.
  • Darrell J. Rippatoe, 65, Galesburg, was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery in a public place and misdemeanor criminal trespass to state land.
  • Kaiden A. Sibley, 18, Galesburg, was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery/pregnant or handicapped victim and misdemeanor domestic battery causing bodily harm.

Monday, Sept. 8

  • Shawn S. Baker, 45, Abingdon, had a charge of misdemeanor theft under $500 dropped.
  • Joseph Hairston, 34, Galesburg, had a charge of Class 2 felony possession of a firearm by a felon on parole dropped.
  • Kelley S. Hawkinson, 33, Dahinda, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery causing great bodily harm and was fined.
  • Bryant Rucker Jr., 24, Williamsfield, had a charge of Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance dropped.
  • Matthew K. Sullivan, 32, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft under $500 and was sentenced to one year conditional discharge and fined.

Wednesday, Sept. 10

  • Destina M. Smith, 40, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to Class 4 felony obstruction of justice and was sentenced to two days jail/one day credit and two years probation. A charge of Class 4 felony aggravated DUI was dismissed.

Friday, Sept. 12

  • Tori E. Gilmour, 31, Galesburg, had charges of misdemeanor resisting an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia dropped.
  • Terry P. Gruber, 47, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery causing bodily harm and was sentenced to two years conditional discharge and fined. Charges of misdemeanor battery causing bodily harm and battery/physical contact were dismissed.
  • Tiffany L. Hippen, 31, Galesburg, had a charge of misdemeanor domestic battery causing bodily harm dropped.
  • Ian N. McGraw, 26, Galesburg, had a charge of misdemeanor DUI/alcohol dropped.
  • Jellymichelle Velazquez, 20, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery/physical contact and was sentenced to 12 months court supervision and fined. Charges of Class 3 felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery causing bodily harm were dismissed.
