City of Galesburg water customers may have recently received a backflow survey from Aqua Backflow as part of the city’s required cross-connection control program.
Water suppliers are required to conduct the survey every three years to identify potential plumbing connections that could pose a risk to the public water supply. In some cases, certain plumbing systems may require backflow prevention devices to prevent contaminated water from flowing back into the municipal system.
Residents are asked to complete the brief survey by scanning the QR code on the postcard or visiting TrackMyBackflow.com using the unique site ID provided. There is no cost to complete the survey, which should be completed within 30 days of receipt.
The program is required by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to protect drinking water systems. Aqua Backflow administers the program on behalf of the city and serves as the primary point of contact for questions related to survey completion or compliance notices.
Questions about the survey or compliance notices should be directed to Aqua Backflow at 847-742-2296 or info@aquabackflow.com.
