Men’s golf: Nandakumar earns Player of the Week
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards Sept. 29, and Knox’s Pranav Nandakumar was chosen as the men’s golf Player of the Week. He is the first Prairie Fire golfer to earn the honor since last fall and the first of his career.

A senior from Chennai, India, Nandakumar led Knox at the Stateline Shootout, hosted by Mount St. Joseph University in Harrison, Ohio, over the weekend, tying for sixth overall in the 89-player field.

In the opening round Sept. 27, he sank one birdie while carding a 76, then whittled five strokes off that score in the second and final round, thanks in part to five birdies. Nandakumar was one of only three players to shoot below par in the second round with his 1-under 71 and finished three strokes behind the medalist.

Knox will next compete in the Central Fall Classic on Oct. 6-7 at Bos Landen Golf Course in Pella, Iowa.
