Volleyball: Galesburg 2, Sterling 0
The Galesburg Silver Streaks volleyball team defeated visiting Sterling in two sets, 25-21, 25-19.

The team had 19 kills, led by Sophia Kisler with 12. Ella Herchenroder and Grace Herchenroder each had seven of the team’s 28 digs.
The Streaks improved to 6-9 on the season and 1-5 in the Western Big 6.

Swimming: Galesburg 113, Pekin 66
Galesburg dominated in a dual meet at Pekin on Sept. 23 by taking first in every individual and relay event. The Silver Streaks won 113-66.
Three swimmers — Hayden Johnson, Lily Furrow and Macie Nelson — each placed first in four individual and relay events.

Carl Sandburg College Sports
Men’s soccer: Sandburg 2, Rock Valley 0
Hugo Flores scored twice in the second half to propel Carl Sandburg to a 2-0 win over visiting Rock Valley College on Sept. 24.
Goalie Linus Richtberg posted the shutout, which improved the Chargers’ season record to 5-2-2. Sandburg is 3-0 at home.
Volleyball: Sandburg 3, Black Hawk 0
Carl Sandburg volleyball won its third match in a row, going on the road and defeating Black Hawk College in three sets, 27-25, 25-22, 26-24.
Madalynn Knapp had 15 kills and Abigail Shaffer had 20 digs for the Chargers, who are now 10-9 overall and 4-1 in the Arrowhead Athletic Conference.
The Chargers compete in the Kankakee Quad on Sept. 27 against Moraine Valley, Kankakee and Kellogg community colleges. Match times are at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Knox College Sports

Women’s soccer: Illinois Wesleyan 4, Knox 1
Visiting Illinois Wesleyan scored a little more than two minutes into the match and went on to defeat the Knox College women’s soccer team 4-1 at Jorge Prats Field on Sept. 24.
The Prairie Fire dropped to 3-4-1 on the season while the Titans moved above .500 at 5-4.
Eliana Juarez scored the lone goal for Knox. It was her fourth of the season, matching the most by any Prairie Fire player in any of the previous three years.
