Blue Route changes to take effect May 11 in Galesburg

By Galesburg Community News    May 5, 2026

The City of Galesburg will implement changes to its public transportation Blue Route beginning May 11, following recommendations from the city’s Traffic Advisory Committee.

The updates are intended to improve safety, accessibility and rider convenience. As part of the revision, the route will add closer drop-off locations at O.N. Custer Park and the Department of Motor Vehicles, two destinations frequently requested by passengers.

City Transit Manager Kraig Boynton said the changes reflect feedback from riders and ongoing efforts to improve service.

A map of the updated route and stop locations has been released by the city. Live route maps in the Passio GO app and online will continue to show the current route until the changes take effect, at which point updated information will appear.

City officials also reminded riders that buses will only pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops, including marked stops, benches and shelters. Official stop locations are identified in the Passio GO app and on its website.

More information, including route updates and real-time tracking, is available through the Passio GO app or at the city’s website.
