Saturday, Jan. 10

Second Saturdays: Ice Fishing (Under the Ice)
When: 9:30–11 a.m.
Where: Lakeside Nature Center (Shelter 009), 1033 S. Lake Storey Road
Details: Explore the world “under the ice.” Weather permitting, participants will fish on Lake Storey. If ice conditions are unsafe, the program will focus on equipment demonstrations and local aquatic ecology.


Indoor Mobile Playground
When: 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Where: Lakeside Recreation Facility
Cost: $5 for ages 3–12; free for ages 2 and younger
Details: Features giant games, including Frisbee and Connect 4, along with inflatables for children and adults. Children age 6 and younger must be supervised. Pre-registration is encouraged; drop-ins are accepted as space allows.


GCAC Photo Club meeting
When: 1–3 p.m.
Where: Galesburg Community Arts Center, 349 E. Main St.
Cost: Free
Details: The first meeting of 2026. Participants are invited to bring digital files or prints to share for group discussion.


Hawthorne Pool open swim
When: 1–4 p.m.
Where: 2331 Veterans Drive
Cost: $7 per person


Winter Jigsaw Puzzle Competition
When: 2–4 p.m.
Where: Galesburg Public Library, community room
Cost: Free; registration required
Details: Teams of two to six participants, ages 12 and older, will race to complete a 500-piece puzzle. Prizes will be awarded.

Wedding Expo: Off the Market!
When: 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Where: The Vault at Reserve Artisan Ales, S. Kellogg St.
Details: Hosted by Knox County Weddings, the annual expo connects couples with local vendors for wedding planning and inspiration. One couple will receive a $500 vendor credit.
