GALESBURG — A Galesburg man faces several weapon-related charges following an Oct. 17 arrest.
At 10:38 a.m., Dante A. Quick, 22, was seen riding a bicycle north in the 200 block of Silver Street. Officers also found about half a gram of suspected methamphetamine, a gun holster and four hypodermic syringes in Quick’s possession.
Quick was taken into custody on charges of possession of a stolen firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of meth under 5 grams and resisting an officer. He also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in an April 2024 felony weapons case.
On Oct. 20, Quick was charged in Knox County Court with Class X felony possession of a weapon by a felon, Class 2 felony possession of a stolen firearm, Class 2 felony aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, Class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and misdemeanor resisting an officer.
Quick remains in custody at the Knox County Jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 10.
