The following people were charged in Knox County between Aug. 25–29, 2025. Charges are accusations and not proof of guilt.
Monday, Aug. 25
Miguel A. Alvarez, 32, of Galesburg, was charged with aggravated battery by strangulation, a Class 2 felony, and two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery involving physical contact.
Eddie R. Beckom, 30, of Galesburg, was charged with methamphetamine delivery of 5 to 15 grams, a Class 1 felony; aggravated battery of a peace officer, a Class 2 felony; methamphetamine possession of 5 to 15 grams; and misdemeanor resisting an officer.
Jonathan B. Smith, 27, of Galesburg, was charged with aggravated battery by strangulation, a Class 2 felony, and misdemeanor domestic battery causing bodily harm.
Tuesday, Aug. 26
Malik D. Ferguson, 28, of Galesburg, was charged with aggravated battery by strangulation, a Class 2 felony, and domestic battery with a prior conviction, a Class 4 felony.
Wednesday, Aug. 27
Kyla L. Andersen, 51, of Galesburg, was charged with retail theft under $300 with a prior conviction, a Class 4 felony.
Mandy L. Bailey, 49, of Galesburg, was charged with armed robbery, armed violence and home invasion causing injury, all Class X felonies; aggravated battery causing great bodily harm to a victim age 60 or older, a Class 2 felony; and aggravated battery of a victim age 60 or older and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, both Class 3 felonies.
Michelle F. Pleasant, 52, of Galesburg, was charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer, a Class 2 felony, and misdemeanor resisting an officer.
Anthony J. Anthony J. Williams, 48, of Galesburg, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a Class 3 felony; and misdemeanor violating a no-contact order and misdemeanor battery causing bodily harm.
Friday, Aug. 29
Darius D. Holloway, 18, of Galesburg, was charged with aggravated battery involving discharge of a firearm, a Class X felony; aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony; firearm possession, a Class 3 felony; and aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm, a Class 4 felony.
Marques D. McClendon, 19, of Galesburg, was charged with aggravated battery involving discharge of a firearm, a Class X felony; aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony; firearm possession, a Class 3 felony; and aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm, a Class 4 felony.

Tuesday, Aug. 26
Zachary B. Campbell, 20, of Moline, had charges of burglary, a Class 2 felony, and misdemeanor criminal damage to property under $500, resisting an officer, and criminal trespass dismissed.
Cody W. Earp, 33, of East Galesburg, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, and was sentenced to two years of conditional discharge. Charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class 3 felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, were dismissed.
Brandon S. Engle, 44, of Abingdon, had charges of unlawful restraint, a Class 4 felony, and misdemeanor criminal damage to property under $500 dropped.
Mariesse A. Garza, 18, of Moline, had charges of burglary, a Class 2 felony, and misdemeanor criminal damage to property under $500, resisting an officer, and criminal trespass dismissed.
Shirley M. Kruger, 60, of Galesburg, had charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a Class 3 felony, and misdemeanor domestic battery involving physical contact and reckless driving dropped.
Julius J. Mejia, 18, of Moline, had charges of burglary, a Class 2 felony, and misdemeanor criminal damage to property under $500, resisting an officer, and criminal trespass dismissed.
Alex R. Nowlan, 32, of Toulon, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, and was sentenced to seven days of conditional discharge.
George G. Sutton Jr., 42, of Galesburg, pleaded guilty to two counts of manufacture or delivery of heroin, 1 to 15 grams, a Class 1 felony; manufacture or delivery of cocaine, 1 to 15 grams, a Class 1 felony; and possession of a weapon by a felon, a Class 3 felony. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison with 201 days’ credit. Charges of additional manufacture or delivery of heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine; violation of the sex offender registry, a Class 3 felony; methamphetamine possession under 5 grams; and five counts of possession of a controlled substance, all Class 4 felonies, were dropped.
Brian L. Swise, 59, of Galesburg, was sentenced to six years in prison. Swise pleaded guilty April 15 to possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class 3 felony. Charges of aggravated battery involving discharge of a firearm, a Class X felony, and aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony, were dismissed.
Jasmyne K. Webb, 32, of Burlington, Iowa, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony (reduced from possession of cocaine, 100 to 400 grams, a Class 1 felony). She was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 160 days’ credit, two years of probation, and 30 hours of community service. A charge of manufacture or delivery of cocaine, 100 to 400 grams, a Class X felony, was dismissed.
Wednesday, Aug. 27
Stanley C. Moultrie, 45, of Galesburg, had a charge of domestic battery with a prior conviction, a Class 4 felony, dropped.
Ryan A. Swank, 36, of Abingdon, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery causing bodily harm with a prior conviction, a Class 2 felony, and was sentenced to six years in prison with 328 days’ credit. Charges of aggravated domestic battery, methamphetamine possession of 5 to 15 grams, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, unlawful restraint, domestic battery with a prior conviction, and misdemeanor interfering with a report of domestic violence were dropped.
Thursday, Aug. 28
Nicole M. Holton, 31, of Galesburg, pleaded guilty to theft under $500, a Class 3 felony, and was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge. A charge of forgery, a Class 3 felony, was dismissed.
Thomas Lewis, 42, of Decatur, pleaded guilty to bringing a controlled substance into a penal institution, a Class 1 felony, and was sentenced to two years of conditional discharge. A charge of cannabis possession in a penal institution, a Class 3 felony, was dismissed.
April K. Liao, 35, of Galesburg, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery of a peace officer, a Class 2 felony, and aggravated battery in a public place, a Class 3 felony. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days’ credit and two years of conditional discharge. Charges of additional aggravated battery of a peace officer, aggravated domestic battery, misdemeanor resisting an officer and misdemeanor battery involving physical contact were dismissed.
Tearyll G. Shunick, 36, of Galesburg, had a charge of domestic battery with a prior conviction, a Class 4 felony, dismissed.
Syris S. Whiting, 28, of Galesburg, pleaded guilty to methamphetamine possession under 5 grams, a Class 3 felony, and was sentenced to two years of conditional discharge. Two additional counts of methamphetamine possession under 5 grams, both Class 3 felonies, and two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.
