First Fridays event brings music and fun to Seminary Street

GALESBURG, Ill. — Seminary Street was alive with music, food, and fun on Aug. 1. First Fridays is a recurring summer street festival held on the first Friday of the month in June, August, and September from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Lubricats, a live band, performed for several hundred attendees while local restaurants sold street-friendly food and drinks. Children played with bubbles and took part in activities provided by the Galesburg Community Art Center and the Discovery Children’s Museum.
The next First Fridays is scheduled for Sept. 5.
